Tennis

La Camarilla provides year-round play on its 16 outdoor courts.

Our tennis staff, all certified, have developed a well-rounded program of lessons, clinics, leagues and social tennis activities for adults and juniors of all ability levels. La Camarilla is a proud recipient of the Phoenix area USTA award for Facility of the Year!.

Our Staff:

Roger Furman, USPTA certified, our Director of Tennis and General Manager was recently recognized for his 20 years of service to the game.  Previous to joining La Camarilla, he coached local, Missouri Valley, and nationally ranked players at all age levels and was even selected to coach the St. Louis National Junior City Team.  Roger was a former collegiate player and he brings the enthusiasm and energy from those playing days into La Camarilla's tennis programs.  He was also very active in the Adult Interclub League in St. Louis and lends his coaching and organizational experience to La Camarilla.

Cory Rockow is another full time USPTA certified pro on our staff. Cory is not only an accomplished player on the court where he was nationally ranked as a junior and All-Conference while at college; but, he also performed on the academic side of college as a consistent member of the Academic Dean's List. Cory's history already includes five years of teaching tennis. His discipline and tremendous ability to communicate has enabled him to not only be a great addition for private lessons but helped him immediately join into team teaching, camp and group program settings.

Cady Andelin Cady's enthusiasm, energy, experience and love for the game of tennis will inspire you each and every class. Having played Division I Collegiate Tennis at Utah State University, Cady was voted Athlete of the Year, received All Western Athletic Conference honors and still received Academic recognition. Based on this success and her strong communication abilities she was offered a teaching/coaching position at Utah State. This classroom experience and working at The Sports Academy and Racquet Club earned her a chance to return to her hometown of Phoenix and the opportunity to become the Head Coach of the Nationally Ranked NJCAA Division I Glendale Community College Womens Tennis Program. This return back to the Valley has also brought her here to join our La Camarilla tennis staff.

Chris Tolson joins our staff with experience on all levels including collegiate coaching for the past 4 years. As a USPTR Certified Pro and a USTA Official, Chris played college tennis, taught everything from Tots to Division I College athletes, headed a nationally recognized junior program where he worked with Southwest and Nationally ranked juniors and now brings his wealth of tennis experience to La Camarilla. Just his participation in this summer's La Camarilla tennis program has won him praise and respect from both parents and students. Having played and coached at the highest levels, Chris knows what it takes to get your game to whatever heights you want it to go.
